Tasbeeh as per Quraan

Tasbeeh as per Quraan

"Tasbeeh" is one of the most misunderstood concept of Quran. Its a common observation to see muslims carrying around a long string of bead which they call "tasbeeh" or prayer bead. They keep uttering some arabic words and counting on this bead and think its a nobel deed. Its not only muslims, other religions also have adopted this practice. Rather when we examine the history we find that this practice was initiated by Bhudhist and christians monks which was later adopted by muslims when Islam entered Iran. So its an other gift of "Iranian conspiracy". When muslims visit Makkah for "hajj" they come back with these beads and give as a present to friends and family. Its strange the land which hosted the world's most revolutionary and dynamic movement has become home to the rotten religion. "Tasbeeh" occurs in Quran many times. It literally means " to strive hard to accomplish something" or " to go far to achieve the goal", "Subhun" mean swimmer, " Assabb'baho" is a term for the best swimmer or a speedy horse. Therefore in Quraanic terminology "tasbeeh" can be interpretted as to strive hard, or spend all the energies and abilities to complete the Quraanic programe.Lets see what Quran tells us about Tasbeeh Everything in the universe is busy in Tasbeeh.

Surah 57 is named "Al-Hadeed" The Iron and the very first ayah talks about tasbeeh----- does not it make clear what kind of tasbeeh Allah wants form us,--- Iron is used in the manufacturing of weaponary and all kind of industry. People who deals with iron work hard and toil day and night, they dont sit in a cornor and recite words or phrases on the pieces of iron rather work at least 8 hours shift to make the iron benificial for the humankind and also to make weapons to guard their nations against the invaders. It was men in "Khaki" equipped with G-3's and mortors who gave their lives to stop the enemy at the other side of BRB canal and prevent them to enter Lahore in 1965 and not the mullahs playing with beads at Jamia naeemia. That was tasbeeh what these men in khaki were doing to protect their country. A mettalergist sitting in the A Q Khan laboratories at Kahoota was doing doing trasbeeh when he was working day and night to find the ways to smash the atom to produce energy which could be used to defend the country and light up the dark nights of remote villages. Men risking their lives in the hostile valley of kashmir to rescue the earthquake victims were doing tasbeeh. QXP 2nd edition 57:1 All things in the heavens and the earth are working relentlessly to fulfill the Divine Plan. And He is the Almighty, the Wise.did anyone see any planet or star holding on to a string of beads??????????NOw i'm presenting the frist ayah of surah al-Hashr along with the author's note which will also explain what tasbeeh is Surah 59 – AL-Hashr – The Gathering [Author’s note] This is the 59th Surah of the Qur'an and it has 24 verses. The title refers to the gathering of forces and peaceful exile in 4 Hijrah (627 C.E.) of the Jewish tribe of Bani'n Nadhir at Khaibar near Madinah. They were banished from there after they had repeatedly violated the peace treaties they had signed with the exalted Prophet. They kept joining hands with the Makkans, the hypocrites and some clans attempting to annihilate the believers. With 600 camels laden with their belongings, the tribes were allowed to migrate peacefully to any place of their choosing and thereupon they relocated themselves in Syria. Whenever we reflect upon the Book of Allah in all sincerity, we cannot fail to perceive the Truth of this Divine allegory: “Had We sent down this Qur’an upon a mountain, you would have seen it humble itself and rent asunder from the Awesomeness of Allah.” (59:21).

With the Glorious Name of Allah, the Instant and Sustaining Source of all Mercy and Kindness. 59:1 All that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth is incessantly working to manifest the Glory of Allah and to fulfill His Plan. For, He is Almighty, the Wise.

Its in the backdrop of a dynamic event, people striving to bring peace in the land and propagating the Divine plan practically using thier hands and feet and all other faculties. You dont see anyone holding a string of beads here either.

59:24 He is Allah, the Supreme Creator, the Shaper out of nothing, the Designer. His Names are the Most Beautiful Names, and His alone are the Attributes of Perfection. All things in the heavens and the earth constantly work to manifest His Glory and to fulfill His Plan. And He is Almighty, the Wise. (He runs the Universe in His Infinite Power with His Infinite Wisdom).

If we go back a coupleof ayah we see Allah swt is describing his attirbutes such as knower of all secret and open, instant and sustaining source of mercy and kindness, the peace and the source of all peace, guardian of faith and security, the watcher over all things-------- the tasbeeh would be to develop these qualities in ourselves, ofcourse there are limitation of being a humanbeing but this is the divine plan and we have to do our part. Sitting in isolation and playing with bead string can not make anyone powerful or knower of anything whats open or hidden. It also takes efforts to establish peace and provide security.

61:1 All things in the heavens and all things in the earth are constantly working to manifest the Glory of Allah and to fulfill His Plan. For, He is the Almighty, the Wise.lets go to ayah 4 61:4 Verily, Allah loves those who fight in His Cause in columns as if they were a rock solid wall. This explains whats tasbeeh of a momin. No string of beads here. Its men of faith connected with the string of faith standing in the face of death and striving to establish His Law.62:1 All things in the heavens and all things in the earth strive to manifest the Glory of Allah, the King Supreme, the Impeccable, the Almighty, the Wise

In the very next ayah we see how this tasbeeh is taking place, its through the devlopment of personality ( Tazkeeyah) and establishment of Allah's rule in the earth.

64:1 All things in the heavens and all things in the earth relentlessly strive to fulfill Allah’s Plan, and manifest Allah’s Glory. To Him belongs the Supreme Kingdom, and all Universe is a living witness of His Praise. The Universe itself displays that He is Able to do all things. He is the Powerful Appointer of His Laws and of due measure of all things.

24:41 Do you not realize that Allah, He it is Whom all beings in the heavens and the earth glorify, and the birds, with their wings outspread, as they fly in columns. All of them know their SALAT and TASBEEH (mission and strife). Allah is Aware of what they do to fulfill His Plan.

So tasbeeh is to work on a mission and everything in the heavens and the earth and in between is busy doing tasbeeh beside humanbeings. Every thing has its own mission and its working to accomplish it. When was the last time when someone saw a bird holding a string of beads in his beak. Our knolwedge is limited and we may not know whats the plan other creatures are persuing. We have known somewhat but still there is lot to learn.

17:44 All the seven Highs and their Lows, and all beings in them are working His Plan, displaying that He is Praiseworthy. All creatures are playing their role in the Universe. In your present state of knowledge, you do not understand their exact modes of action. Allah, the Clement, the Absolver of imperfections, sustains and maintains them in Order.

After the glad tidings of a son Syedna Zachriya was told to continue with his daily plan except not to talk to anyone for 3 days.

3:41 Thankful, Zechariah asked, “My Lord! Give a message unto me.” He said, “The Message unto you is that you shall not speak to people for three days, except by signs. Remember your Lord much and keep striving in His Cause night and day.” (Abstaining from speech would save the elderly couple from embarrassing curiosity of people).

Syedna Zachriya asked his deputies to conmitue working towards their mission day and night--- tasbeeh.

19:11 Then Zachariah came out from the shrine and told his deputies by signs, “Keep striving in your mission morning and evening that his Glory be manifest to beholders.”

When Syedna Musa A recieved the command to go to Pharoh he asked Allah SWT to make his brother his helper, so that they could together work fro the mission.

20:25 Moses said, “My Lord! Expand my chest with confidence, courage and steadfastness. (94:1). 20:26 Give me the strength that the formidable challenge becomes easy for me. (94:5). 20:27 Make me eloquent of speech. 20:28 That my word reaches the depths of their hearts. 20:29 And appoint a deputy for me from my folk. 20:30 My brother Aaron. 20:31 Strengthen me with him. 20:32 Make him my partner in my Mission. 20:33 That both of us strive hard together. (Nosabbaihaka) 20:34 And we raise every step remembering Your Commands. 20:35 It is a great feeling that You watch us every moment."

Syedna Sulaimaan along with other tribal leaders was doing Tasbeeh.

21:79 We gave Solomon great understanding of the affairs of the state, and each of them We endowed with wisdom and knowledge. We made the most powerful tribal leaders loyal to David, and they fully complemented his efforts. The strong tribe of At-Taeer and the common citizens were supportive of him. It was We Who did all these things. (Yusabbehna) And a wise man told them to strive hard in the way of Allah.

68:28 Said the most balanced among them, "Did I not tell you – why did you not work aright (thinking of the poor)?" (‘Sabh’ = Swim in strides = Work hard = Labor for a noble cause).Momineen are ordained to struggle day and night to fullfill His plan and this will bring them out from darkness and open the way to Light.

33:42 And strive to establish His Glory on earth morning and night (48:9). (wa sabbayho)Momineen proclaim that they will remain steadfast, strive hard to establish his Divine laws and they call themselevs "Musabbaihoon"

37:164 The sincere servants say, “Each one of us has an assignment. 37:165 And, behold, we are soldiers in ranks. 37:166 And, verily, we, yes we are they who strive to establish His Glory on earth. (‘Sabh’ = Swim with long and strong laps and strides. It is not the rolling of the rosary-beads or to hymn some words).

This is "Tasbeeh" according to Quran, prayer beads belongs to Bhuddism and Christianity, to religion. The priest wants people to remain ignorant inorder to achieve his interests. For this he comes up with plans, prayer bead is one of those evil plans which causes hault to the movement of thought.

Religion is made to focus on personal salvation, the Quranic system is focussed on social salvation by creating the best society for all people, Muslim or no Muslim, so mankind will develope towards self-actualisation and will attain Jannah, Paradise in this life and the next.

Who Are The Deaf & Blind

IT IS THE DISBELIEVERS – NOT THOSE IN THE GRAVES!
[Baqarah 2:18] Deaf, dumb and blind; and they are not to return.
[Baqarah 2:171] And the example of the disbelievers is similar to one who calls upon one that hears nothing except screaming and yelling; deaf, dumb, blind - so they do not have sense.
[Maidah 5:71] And they assumed that there will be no punishment, so they turned blind and deaf - then Allah accepted their penance, then again many of them turned blind and deaf; and Allah is seeing their deeds.
[Ana`am 6:39] And those who deny Our signs are deaf and dumb in realms of darkness; Allah may send astray whomever He wills; and may place on the Straight Path whomever He wills.
[Hud 11:20] They will not be able to escape in the earth, nor do they have any protecting friends apart from Allah; they will have punishment upon punishment; they were unable to hear, nor used to see.
[HMSajdah 41:17] And regarding the Thamud, We showed them the right path - so they chose to be blind above being guided, therefore the thunderbolt of the disgraceful punishment overcame them - the recompense of their deeds.
[HMSajdah 41:44] And if We had made it as a Qur’an in a foreign language they would have certainly said, “Why were its verses not explained in detail?” What! The Book in a foreign language, and the Prophet an Arab?! Proclaim “It is guidance and a cure for the believers”; and there is deafness in the ears of those who do not believe, and it is blindness upon them; as if they are being called from a place far away!
The above quotes 7 verses of the Holy Qur’an make it amply clear that Allah refers to the disbelievers as the “deaf” and the “blind”.

THEIR HEARTS & EARS ARE SEALED
[Baqarah 2:6-7] As for those whose fate is disbelief, whether you warn them or do not warn them - it is all one for them; they will not believe. Allah has sealed their hearts and their ears, and on their eyes is a covering; and for them is a terrible punishment.
[HMSajdah 41:5] And they say, “Our hearts are covered against the affair you call us to, and there is deafness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us and you - therefore mind your own business, we are minding ours.”
The above quoted verses of the Holy Qur’an make it evident that the disbelievers’ hearts and ears are sealed.

THE DISBELIEVERS CAN SEE AND LISTEN - YET THEY REJECT THE TRUTH!
[Yunus 10:42-43] And among them are some who listen to you; so will you make the deaf hear even if they do not have any sense? And among them is one who gazes at you; so will you guide the blind even if they cannot perceive?
[Luqman 31:7] And when Our verses are recited to him he haughtily turns away as if he did not hear them - as if there is deafness in his ears; so give him the glad tidings of a painful punishment.
The above quoted verses (among many others) of the Holy Qur’an are proof that the disbelievers can see and listen – but they purposely turn deaf and blind to guidance!

THEY HAVE HEARTS AND YET THEY DO NOT WANT TO UNDERSTAND
[Ana`am 6:36] It is only those who hear (with sincere hearts) that accept faith; and Allah will raise these people dead of heart, then towards Him they will be herded.
[Aa`raf 7:179] And indeed We have created many jinns and men for hell; they have hearts in which there is no understanding; and the eyes they do not see with; and the ears they do not hear with; they are like cattle - in fact more astray; it is they who are the neglectful.
[Hajj 22:46] So have they not travelled in the land, to have hearts with which to understand and ears to hear with? So it is not the eyes that are blind, but it is the hearts in the bosoms, that are blind.
From the above it is amply clear that the disbelievers are blind and deaf not because they cannot see or hear – but because they do not use their hearts and minds to ponder, nor do they want to be guided.

YOU CANNOT MAKE THE DISBELIEVERS HEED ADVICE ALTHOUGH THEY SEE AND HEAR!
[Hud 11:28] He said, “O my people! What is your opinion - if I am on a clear proof from my Lord and He has bestowed mercy upon me from Him, so you remained blind towards it; shall we force it upon you although you dislike it?”
[Ambiya 21:45] Proclaim “I warn you only with the divine revelation; and the deaf do not hear the call when warned.”
[Naml 27:66] Has their knowledge advanced so much as to know the Hereafter? On the contrary, they are in doubt concerning it; in fact they are blind towards it.
[Ruum 30:52-53] For you do not make the dead hear nor make the deaf hear the call when they flee, turning back. Nor do you guide the blind out of their error; you only make those hear who believe in Our signs, so they have submitted.
[Zukhruf 43:40] So will you make the deaf listen or show the path to the blind, and to those who are in open error?
Having proven in the previous section that the disbeliever purposely turn deaf and blind to guidance, Allah – the Supreme – says in these verses that you cannot guide them (these deaf & blind), because of their obstinacy!

THEY ARE WORSE THAN ANIMALS
[Aa`raf 7:179] And indeed We have created many jinns and men for hell; they have hearts in which there is no understanding; and the eyes they do not see with; and the ears they do not hear with; they are like cattle - in fact more astray; it is they who are the neglectful.
[Anfal 8:22] Indeed the worst beasts in the sight of Allah are those (people) who are deaf, dumb - who do not have any sense.
[Furqan 25:44] Or do you think that most of them hear or understand something? They are not but like the cattle – in fact more astray from the path than them!
The above quoted verses clarify that those who reject the truth – despite being sighted, hearing and having hearts – are actually worse than animals.

BLIND IN THIS WORLD AND BLIND IN THE HEREAFTER.
[b/Israel 17:72] Whoever is blind in this life will be blind in the Hereafter, and even more astray.
[b/Israel 17:97] And only he whom Allah guides, is upon guidance; and whomever He sends astray - you will therefore not find for them any supporters besides Him; and We shall raise them by their faces on the Day of Resurrection - blind, dumb and deaf; their destination is hell; whenever it is about to extinguish, We will inflame it more for them.
[Ta-Ha 20:124-125] “And the one who turned away from My remembrance - for him is a confined existence, and We shall raise him blind on the Day of Resurrection.” He will say, “O my Lord, why have You raised me blind, whereas I was sighted?”
Here again Allah – the Supreme – refers to the disbelievers as “blind” – and will also raise them blind (unable to see), as a punishment on the Day of Resurrection!

Those who are sent to Hell will stay there forever

According to Few Ahadiths, Muslims think that they will serve a certain amount of time in hell and will then be released and shifted to Paradise. If we authenticate it from Quran this is a false concept and is completely against the true teachings of Allah in the Qur'an.

"They say, 'The Fire will only touch us for a number of days.' Say, 'Have you made a contract with Allah - then Allah will not break His contract - or are you rather saying about Allah what you do not know?' No indeed! Those who accumulate bad actions and are surrounded by their mistakes, are the Companions of the Fire, remaining in it timelessly, forever." (Qur'an 2:80-81)

"...they say, ‘The Fire will only touch us for a limited number of days.’ The lies they have invented have led them astray in their own religion." (Qur'an 3:24)

Therefore, the Prophet could never have taught this.

"...If [the Prophet] had said anything against Us, We would certainly have seized his right hand and cut off his artery, and none of you could have defended him." (Qur'an 69:43-47)

Ignoring these verses in preference to alternative 'sayings' is a serious sin:

"These are Allah's Verses we are reciting to you to show the truth. In which narration (hadith حَدِيث) after Allah and His Verses do they believe in?" (Qur'an 45:6)

Understanding 6:128

"On the day He gathers everyone together [saying], ‘Company of jinn! You have seduced a great many humans,’ their adherents among mankind will say, ‘Lord, we have profited from one another, but now we have reached the appointed time You decreed for us.’ He will say, ‘Your home is the Fire, and there you shall remain eternally’- unless Allah wills otherwise." (Qur'an 6:128)

In this verse, Allah's decree is that these Hell-bound people are sent there forever, "eternally". However, "unless Allah wills otherwise" is not negating that, it is used as an expression to emphasise Allah's capability only to do otherwise, it is not retracting what has just been stated already about their stay in Hell forever.

There are certain Quranic styles and ways of expression unique to the Qur'an. One such style used are phrases like "except if He wills" / "except if He gives permission" / "unless He wills otherwise". In the Qur'an, often these expressions follow on from a definite statement. But they do not necessarily negate the initial statement. These expressions serve purely to emphasise on the fact that Allah has the capability to will it both ways - but His verdict on the matter is what has been mentioned initially. A few examples are as follows.

"[Prophet], We shall teach you [the Quran] and you will not forget — unless Allah wishes; He knows both what is open and what is hidden." (Qur'an 87:6-7)

Allah says to the prophet, "you will not forget" the Qur'an - that is His verdict in the verse. The following portion "unless Allah wishes" is there to show that Allah is capable of making him forget, if He so wills - not that He will make him forget. The prophet will not forget is the verdict - the point made using this Quranic style is that Allah is capable of doing all things.

"The Trumpet is blown and those in the heavens and those in the earth swoon away, except those Allah wills. Then it is blown a second time, at once they stand upright, looking on. And the earth shines with the Pure Light of its Lord; the Book is put in place; the prophets and witnesses are brought; it is decided between them with the truth; and they are not wronged. Every self is repaid in full for what it did. He knows best what they are doing." (Qur'an 39:68-70)

In this verse, everyone on earth is destroyed when the trumpet is first blown. And then on the second time they are raised up. The expression, "except those Allah wills" placed following the first sounding of the trumpet does not mean some people will be able to escape the deafening sound on that Day! Once again, we can see that it is the same Quranic style used in emphasising Allah's power and capability to choose what He wills to do. These phrases do not retract the statement made by Allah previous to them but rather only a Quranic style of expressing Allah's power.

With this Quranic wisdom, we can thus understand verse 6:128, when Allah will say on the Day of Judgement, "‘Your home is the Fire, and there you shall remain eternally", He is not taking these words back by saying "unless Allah wills otherwise".

Hadith:

Volume 1, Book 2, Number 22: Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri:
The Prophet said, "When the people of Paradise will enter Paradise and the people of Hell will go to Hell, Allah will order those who have had faith equal to the weight of a grain of mustard seed to be taken out from Hell. So they will be taken out but (by then) they will be blackened (charred). Then they will be put in the river of Haya' (rain) or Hayat (life) (the Narrator is in doubt as to which is the right term), and they will revive like a grain that grows near the bank of a flood channel. Don't you see that it comes out yellow and twisted"

Hadith are as Authentic as the Qur’an?

There are scholars who believe that the Hadith are as authentic as the Qur’an.
Here, it needs to be appreciated that besides investigating the chain of narration of a Hadith, the second thing which requires investigation is the text of a Hadith. Although scholars of Hadith have left no stone unturned in investigating the characters and biographies of the narrators and have spent a greater part of their lives in this research, yet like every human endeavour, the natural flaws which still exist in the narration of a Hadith requires that the following two things must always remain in consideration while investigating the text of a Hadith:

1. Nothing in it should be against the Qur’an and Sunnah
2. Nothing in it should be against established facts derived from knowledge and reason

The Qur’an, it has been alluded to earlier, is the mizan (the scale of truth) and the furqan (the distinguisher between truth and falsehood). It is like a guardian of every religious concept and it has been revealed as a barometer to judge between what is right and what is wrong. Thus no further explanation is required of the fact that if anything is against the Qur’an, then it must stand rejected.

Similar is the case of the Sunnah. Whatever religion has been received through it is as certain and authentic as the Qur’an, as has already been explained earlier. There is no difference between the level of authenticity of the two. Just as the Qur’an is validated thought the consensus of the ummah, the Sunnah is also determined from its consensus. Since this fact is an absolute reality about the Sunnah, thus if a Hadith is against the Sunnah and if there is no way out to resolve a conflict between the two, the Hadith in consideration must necessarily be rejected.

Established facts derived from knowledge and reason also have the same status in this regard. The Qur’an is absolutely clear that its message is based on these established facts. Its arguments on such basic issues as tawhid and the Hereafter are primarily based on these facts. It is the requirements and demands of these facts which the Qur’an highlights through its teachings. Every student of the Qur’an is aware that it presents these facts as deciding factors for the message it puts forth. It presented them as the final word both before the Idolaters of Arabia and the People of the Book. Those who oppose these are regarded by it as people who follow their base desires. Thus intuitive realities, historical truths, results of experience and observation – all are discussed in the Qur’an in this very capacity. Hence how can a Hadith which is against these facts regarded by the Qur’an as ones which distinguish between the truth and untruth be accepted? It is obvious that it shall stand rejected. All leading scholars of Hadith also hold this view. Khatib writes:

ولا يقبل خبر الواحد في منافاة حكم العقل وحكم القرآن الثابت المحكم والسنة المعلومة والفعل الجاري مجرى السنة كل دليل مقطوع به
A khabr-i wahid cannot be accepted which is against sense and intellect, is against an established and explicit directive of the Qur’an, is against a known Sunnah or is against a practice which is observed like the Sunnah or its conflict with some conclusive argument becomes absolutely evident

Can we understand Quran on our own?

Q: Can I understand Quran on my own or I need a learned teacher?
A: You can understand it on your own
Q: How?
A: Method is mentioned below
Q: I need a teacher for other books then why not for Quran which is the book of Allah?
A: You gave the answer yourself. Through Quran Allah speaks to each human being and to understand what Allah is saying we need to read it on our own first. He is the wisest of all so is his BOOK.

The Quran seeks to awaken in human the consciousness of his/her intimate relation to the universe. Its main emphasis is on reason and knowledge. Its purpose is to help to build up a free, self-reliant and rational personality, vivified with the sense of Allah's working in the universe according to His immutable, unalterable laws. Now the question is: "How to understand the Quran?"

For this purpose, some pre-requisites are suggested. Study them very carefully, minutely, and meticulously before manifesting any emotional reactions.

Pre-requisite No. I
For understanding the Quran, it is not enough to have mastered its language, the Arabic language. A man may be proficient in the Arabic language and yet the meaning of the Quran may elude him.

Pre-requisite No. 2
He/She should approach this Divine Book with a receptive mind, free from preconceived ideas and notions, prejudice and bias.

Pre-requisite No. 3
He/She should be serious about human life and universe in which we live, and should have an intense consciousness of participation in a purposeful cosmic process.

Pre-requisite No. 4
He/She should be anxious to guard against pitfalls in the way of life and to steer clear of the obsacles which hinders his/her progress

These are, according to the Quran, the essentials pre-requisites for understanding the Quran. Those who do not approach the Quran in this way, it remains a sealed book to them. In the stories of the Anbiya -the Messengers recounted in the Quran -we are told how those who were not perceptive and alive were only bewildered when they listened to their i.e., the anbiya's passionate exhortations. Some of them frankly confessed that they found their words unintelligible:
O Shu'aib ! We understand not much what you say (11: 91)

Our first task, in the light of the above mentioned pre-requisites, is to understand the real meaning of the Quran with the help of all the intellectual faculties we possess. It can only be then that we can proceed to assess the values of its teaching.

Blasphemy in Quran

Killing is not a solution but building our character is the key

All those people are guilty of Blasphemy who try to prove that Prophet has killed many people who humiliated him (Nauzubillah). How can you even think that our beloved Prophet (pbuh) has actually killed someone for humiliating him? Did he posses such character & should I need to prove what type of character he possessed?, shame on all of you who call themselves Muslims and believe in such things, you are infect those people who are responsible for spreading the mischief in land?

Allah's prophet is Rahmaat ul Alameen, he can never say to kill someone. He always stayed on his mission to spread Islam through peace, forgiveness and repentance.

BLASPHEMY in QURAN:

The noble Quran teaches us the right way and explains complete Deen. Quran teaches us with examples how to deal with blasphemy.

"when ye hear the signs of Allah held in defiance and ridicule, ye are not to sit with them unless they turn to a different theme: if ye did, ye would be like them. For Allah will collect the hypocrites and those who defy faith - all in Hell: (Quran Surah 4:140)

"Hold to forgiveness; command what is right; But turn away from the ignorant." Quran Surah 7:199

"...but indeed they uttered blasphemy,...If they repent, it will be best for them; but if they turn back (to their evil ways), Allah will punish them..."( Quran 9:74)

"For Allah is with those who restrain themselves,..."(Quran 16:128)

"Therefore be patient with what they say, and celebrate (constantly) the praises of thy Lord, before the rising of the sun, and before its setting; yea, celebrate them for part of the hours of the night, and at the sides of the day: that thou mayest have (spiritual) joy."Quran 20:130

"And if ye are in doubt as to what We have revealed from time to time to Our servant( Muhammad), then produce a Sura like thereunto; and call your witnesses or helpers (If there are any) besides Allah, if your (doubts) are true.(Quran 2:23)

"And the servants of (Allah) Most Gracious are those who walk on the earth in humility, and when the ignorant address them, they say, "Peace!";(Surah 25:63)

"And when they hear vain talk, they turn away therefrom and say: "To us our deeds, and to you yours; peace be to you: we seek not the ignorant.(Surah 28:55)

"And have patience with what they say, and leave them with noble (dignity)."(Surah 73:10)

"Bear, then, with patience, all that they say, and celebrate the praises of thy Lord, before the rising of the sun and before (its) setting."(Quran50:39)

“Mocked were (many) Messengers before thee; but the scoffers were hemmed in by the thing that they mocked.” (Surah Al-An’aam 6:10).

what Allah is saying is, Don't sit with the blasphemers, turn away from the ignorant, restrain yourself, be patient with what they say, when ignorant address you, say PEACE and move away, don't hear vein talk and go away, be patient with what they say and leave with dignity, bear them with patience, all that they say.

NOWHERE in Quran Allah says to kill them. Why? because Allah is all knowing, and after seeing the destruction created by such laws everyone is saying its wrong.

Killing - In Quran
The ONLY 2 incident where murder or killing a human is allowed is in the case of a murder of an innocent man or mischief against Allah and his messenger. Even in those 2 cases exceptions are available.

  1. "Take not life , which God has made sacred, except by way of justice and law. Thus does He command you, so that you may learn wisdom" (6:151).
  2. "...If anyone kills a person - unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land - it would be as if he killed all people. And if anyone saves a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all people" (Qur'an 5:32).
Exception is forgiveness:
O ye who believe! the law of equality is prescribed to you in cases of murder: the free for the free, the slave for the slave, the woman for the woman. But if any remission is made by the brother of the slain, then grant any reasonable demand, and compensate him with handsome gratitude, this is a concession and a Mercy from your Lord. After this whoever exceeds the limits shall be in grave penalty.(The Noble Quran, 2:178)"

Engagement in Quran

Marriage is a sacred institution which is not to be taken casually. God puts up a lot of considerations for marriage. To begin with, two requirements of a marriage are mutual attraction and dowry see 4:24.

With regard to the first requirement, in my view it takes time for the couple to know if they really love each other or not, sometimes years. Thus God gives us the alternative of engagement first, that we may have a better chance of getting to know the other person, to see if he or she is really the right one for us.

We must know that even if we are engaged to someone we are not allowed to meet with that person in private unless we have something righteous to discuss with them. Sexual relationship is not allowed until after the wedding. A sexual friendship or arrangement will be considered adultery, a gross sin in Islam.

[2:235] You commit no sin by announcing your engagement to the women, or keeping it secret. GOD knows that you will think about them. Do not meet them secretly, unless you have something righteous to discuss...........

[17:32] You shall not commit adultery; it is a gross sin, and an evil behavior.

There is nothing unrighteous about the meetings during the engagement periodif it is for discussing righteous matters and for the sole purpose of getting to know whether they like each other. You can meet in the open (or privately, with righteous intention, if required) with consent of both your families.

In my view if the interaction between you and your fiancée` is only through telephone, there is no sin on either of you.

If one is still pursuing education he may not be able to afford the dowry to be paid to his wife (which as stated earlier is a requirement for marriage). Further God has made men the bread-earner - see 4:34. Since you have yourself said that you "can't get married and live together for at least another 2 years" you might want to wait for a few more years. Obviously you are aware that you cannot take the responsibility of supporting your wife and family. When you take on a wife, and have children it is a big responsibility.

It is probably better for you to further your education first to better your chances to care for a family. Meanwhile you can continue to meet your fiancée`like righteous Muslims in the open (or privately, with righteous intention, if required) with consent of both your families. There would be no sin on either of you on this account.

May God in His infinite grace and mercy guide us in His right path.

If we really love Allah and Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)

We have to make arrangements to provide means of nourishment to those who are incapable of earning; or to those who are left alone in society (without any support); and to those who are entrapped in some calamity. Although selfish instinct demands that everything should be collected and kept for one s own-self, irrespective of these desires they make arrangements  for the nourishment of others. 76/8.

We do not do all this as a favour to you. No not at all: We do not expect any thing in return; not even a word of appreciation. In fact we are doing our duty; and our interest lies only in this. Accordingly, not only are our own  SELVES nourished and developed, even the Divine attributes grow in our personalities. THIS IS THE OBJECTIVE OF HUMAN LIFE. 76/9, Quran.

Obediance of Prophet and Obediance of Divine Law

(It should be well understood that, although the decisions are pronounced by the Prophet, in reality the obedience is that of the divine system. However this does not mean disobedience to the prophet - 3/78 - as you have the right to differ or disagree with the personal suggestions of the Prophet or his advice. This is no way would mean the disobedience to Allah and his Prophet. In this connection the episode of Zaid set forth an explicit example.)

He (Zaid) was a person upon whom Allah had conferred grace, and (O' Prophet) you too had extended personal favors. It was to him that you were advising, Keep your wife in wedlock and in this way maintain a relationship which has been established according to the divine law. (tolerate any petty differences you may have, and there is something serious, then speak about it openly as hiding it will be of no use). If you hide it in your heart, it will have to be explained later (At the time of divorce) as per the requirement of divine law. So not have fear about people (as to what they would say) for you have to only fear Allah (insuring that his law are not violated).

Zaid did not accept your advice and after he divorced his wife, you married her according to the divine law. Earlier we had revealed clear verses that an adopted son does not become a real one (33/4). Marrying the wife of a real son is not permitted (4/23). However there is no blame in marrying the divorced wife of an adopted son, and therefore this action of the Prophet was in accordance with the divine laws.

(This episode clearly brings out two issues. Firstly, only the decision of the Prophet which are binding are those which he makes in his capacity  as Allah's Prophet as such, one can differ with his personal advice. Secondly, adopted son do not become real sons). 33/37  Quran.
