There Is No Such Thing As Evil Eye

The problem of evil eye or (Nazar lag jana in Urdu) has a very deep impact on our lives. We Pakistani's have lived with Hindus for such along time that their traditions and cultures has rooted in ours like it was ours from the very start.
Its good to use word Mashallah, Alhadmululah when praising something else we or someone else have but thinking about it in a way to prevent an evil eye has no reality in it. Whenever you tell someone not to believe something and no one can put you in any harm with just their eye or bad intention in their heart they quote the Ayah in Surah Al Falaq (113 Surah) which says in Ayah 5"And from the mischief of the envious one as he practises envy." or in Urdu "اور ہر حسد کرنے والے کے شر سے جب وہ حسد کرے" It doesn't mean he has dark power which will do any damage to your life. It simply means that the people who envy others are often people who put plots against you and try to make your life hell with their schemes and plots that are physical terms not something spiritual that will effect you from the air.

4:50 See, how the claimants to spiritual purity deceive people by inventing lies against God. That is sufficient to flagrantly drag them down in humanity.

4:51 Are you not aware of those who, after receiving their share of the Book (Qur’an), believe in Jibt. And they believe in Taaghoot (the evil humans who try to play god with their tyranny or with their religious exploitation as priests and monks, Mullahs and Sufis of any religion)? And then they claim that they, the deniers (of the Qur’an) are better guided than the believers in the Book!

May Allah give us all wisdom to understand his word. Ameen
